Event Description |

New Venue! Due to the unprecedented growth in attendance at the 2012 event, this program is moving to the spacious and modern Cape Town International Convention Center.
The 2012 event marked an important milestone; ten years as the only ‘must attend’ capital markets conference in South Africa. With just over 600 attendees registered, the 2012 event was the largest yet. To celebrate this achievement, IMN teamed up with the International Finance Corporation to broaden the scope of the program to include Emerging Africa. This will ensure the event retains its excellent reputation well into the next decade.
The 2013 programme will continue to look towards the future of African capital markets, and will feature extensive coverage on local South African developments as well as a focus on emerging markets in Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Nigeria, Kenya and more.
Each year, the program is carefully developed in consult with our Advisory Board members comprised of the premier thought leaders in the South African and African Debt Capital Markets community. Additionally, the IFC acts as an important contributor to the African Emerging Markets coverage at the event.
Join us in Cape Town as the South African and African Capital Markets communities convene to explore and define the road ahead for the international debt capital markets.

Testimonials |
 |
IFC is committed to capital market development across Africa. Our partnership with the Information Management Network (IMN) is an important platform to convene key stakeholders and explore how we can work together more effectively to strengthen capital markets in the region. IFC believes that a vibrant local-currency capital market is a foundation for sustainable economic growth. Such markets provide capital for businesses in their own currencies, allowing them to grow and create jobs while protecting them from foreign-exchange risk. Through IFC’s recently launched PanAfrican Domestic Medium Term Note Programme, we are helping African countries bring about regulatory changes to attract new issuers, provide access to high quality and diversified securities to institutional investors, and help extend and deepen the corporate yield curve.

Standard Bank is proud of its association with IMN’s South African Capital Markets Conference, having participated in the event as lead sponsor since its inception. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the conference has expanded its focus to highlight the increasing role that the capital markets are performing in raising finance for sovereigns and corporations across Sub-Saharan Africa. It has become clear judging by the quantum of deals being brought to market and the huge interest in offshore African debt, that alongside its natural resources, African bonds have become highly sought after by investors across the globe. Standard Bank is committed to supporting the growth of the capital markets throughout Africa as a leading financial institution on the continent. The conference brings together key stakeholders and provides a forum for debate around achieving this important goal.
