William F. Sharpe Indexing Achievement Award Winners Announced at 2011 Super Bowl of Indexing Conference

Sharpe Indexing Achievement Awards. Presented at a ceremonial lunch on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Arizona Biltmore, during the Super Bowl of Indexing Conference, the awards were given in front of an international delegation of the industry's foremost participants and innovators.
The nominees were evaluated by the Journal of Index Investing's editorial board, a panel of leading practitioners and academics in the field of indexing research. This year's winners include:
The PowerShares Fundamental High Yield Corporate Bond Portfolio (PHB) for ETF Product of the Year, which is awarded to the company responsible for the ETF product that had the most significant impact on the ETF market over the previous 12 months.
ProShares VIX Short-Term Futures (VIXY) for ETF Innovation of the Year, which is awarded to the company responsible for the most significant new product, service, or strategy in ETF investing.
MSCI Risk Weighted Indices for Index Product of the Year, which is awarded to the company responsible for the index product that had the most significant impact on the indexing market over the previous 12 months.
S&P GSCI Dynamic Roll Index for Indexing Innovation of the Year, which is awarded to the company responsible for the most significant new product, service, or strategy in index investing.
Lee Kranefuss, Chief Executive Officer, Kranefuss Group for the Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors the individual who has made outstanding and lasting contributions to the field of index investing.
Index Volatility in Perspective, Summer 2010, by Joanne Hill of ProShares and ProFunds for Research Paper of the Year, awarded to the author(s) whose research paper was published in The Journal of Index Investing (JII) within the previous twelve months and meets the highest standards of quality, originality, subject matter, and timeliness.
