INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND
Jay Surti is with the Financial Analysis Division of the IMF in Washington D.C. Mr. Surti is involved in the IMF's work on the surveillance and regulatory reform of systemically important financial institutions and markets. His current research is focused on bank wholesale funding markets and instruments including covered bonds and securitization and regulatory aspects of central clearing of OTC derivatives.
He also has extensive experience of the IMF's work in the area of central bank FX reserves management, having lead workshops on strategic asset allocation issues for official sector policy makers, and doing advisory work on middle office functions for central bank reserves managers. His work experience covers several countries, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Indonesia, Slovenia, and Latvia. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University.
