With over 30 years of experience in business and government, Tim Aines works as Director of Transformation Operations in the IT Shared Services area of $4.5B Dutch multinational Wolters Kluwer. Tim works special assignment large-scale global change IT programs to achieve cost reductions, steamlining, and other strategic business objectives for this Amsterdam-based information services portfolio company. At Wolters Kluwer, Tim co-created, executed and managed a $300 million North American IT outsourcing and offshoring contract that consolidated 43 acquired North American data centers down to 2, saving $44 million annually. Tim has also worked in the areas of offshoring, virtualization, private cloud computing, server consolidation, CMDB, and outsourcing strategy. Prior additional responsibilities included PMO department head for all North American Shared Services. Tim also co-created and program managed the first private cloud computing environment for Wolters Kluwer that led to the elimination of 1,960 physical servers. In addition to information technology, Tim has a broad and deep background in logistics, transportation and supply-chain. As a former reserve officer in the armed forces, Tim was mobilized for 2 years service immediately after 9/11 as the Chief of Staff for Operations at U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), managing worldwide rail, airlift and sealift deployment of coalition forces in the global war on terror. Tim previously also worked as a consultant at Booz, Allen and Accenture, a Vice President with aviation parts supplier AAR Corp, and later as Director of Operations for Grainger.com, the B2B web business for MRO giant W.W. Grainger. Tim holds a B.A. from Northwestern University, and an M.S. from University of Southern California, and has also taught as an online part-time adjunct professor for DeVry University in the area of systems management.
