Director - Latin America Origination & Structuring
Erick Hernandez is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of Asset-Backed investments for Alsis Funds in the Latin America Region. Previously he held positions at Standard Bank where he was the Head of the Latin American ABS Group and at Deutsche Bank Mexico. Mr. Hernandez has an extensive experience securitizing real-estate transactions, as he was responsible of the execution of the first deal out of Latin America that securitized construction risk in December 2001. He has also executed RMBS deals for more than MXN 2 billion, as well as having experience securitizing different asset classes such as Municipal future flows, Toll Road future flows and Trade future flows in Mexico, Brazil, US, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Mr. Hernandez was a key member of the team that executed the first catastrophic-risk securitization from Latin America for the Mexican Government (CAT-Mex Ltd) and only the second ever ILS issued by a Sovereign worldwide. Mr. Hernandez has an MBA from IPADE and a B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from ITESM, where he graduated with honors.
