Warburg Pincus to raise stake in Asian real estate fund manager ARA
"U.S. private equity firm Warburg Pincus is raising its stake in Asian real estate fund manager ARA Asset Management Ltd (ARA) to 48.7% from 30.7%, as it seeks to capitalise on rising investor interest in property funds, both firms said in a statement.
“We look forward to leveraging our strong capital base to help the business become the largest real estate fund management platform in Asia Pacific and one of the largest globally,” said Jeffrey Perlman, head of Southeast Asia at Warburg Pincus.

KKR Completes $4 Billion Fundraise for Dislocation Opportunities
"Leading global investment firm KKR today announced that it has completed a capital raise focused on investing in credit opportunities created by recent market volatility. In total, KKR raised approximately $4 billion, which includes $2.8 billion in its KKR Dislocation Opportunities Fund (the "Fund") and over $1.1 billion from separately managed accounts committed to the same investment opportunities.
The Fund and separately managed account commitments will operate within KKR's $67.6 billion credit business and will have the ability to draw on the Firm's global network of resources and experience, including in private equity, infrastructure, and real estate..."

Starwood Capital Recapitalizing TPG REIT in $325M Deal

Distressed Real Estate Market Beckons Opportunistic Buyers
"Hoping to take advantage of wreckage in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, investors are preparing to snap up commercial real estate at rock-bottom prices.
Long before states and cities closed businesses and issued stay-at-home orders, many real estate funds were stockpiling cash and waiting for a buyer’s market. Some have raised billions of dollars in the last several weeks.
As a result, Blackstone Group, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, Starwood Capital Group and other investment firms are sitting on roughly $300 billion of equity ready for deployment…"
